Kelly received her Bachelor of Science, Nursing (BSN) degree from the University of New Hampshire in May 2001.
Currently she assists with the overall planning, organization, direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Breast Care Center. Her responsibilities include assisting with financial management, human resource management, quality improvement, and staff development and communication. And she continues to function as a Breast Health Specialist, providing comprehensive care to patients in regards to their breast health. Kelly educates and counsels patients and their families in the areas of clinical and self breast exams, diagnostic procedures, provision and explanation of pathology results, treatment options and health promoting behaviors. She assists physicians in the assessment, treatmen, and diagnosis of breast illnesses/diseases including but not limited to breast cancer. Kelly continues to educate patients preoperatively on surgical procedures and post-operative care including lumpectomy, mastectomy, mass excision and biopsy. She plans and facilitates "Just Between Us," a breast cancer support group which meets monthly. And assists in inpatient education for staff on surgical breast patients. She will also oversee the federally funded program "Let No Woman Be Overlooked" Breast and Cervical Cancer program.
