Rockingham Regional Ambulance, Inc. has been re-accredited by the National Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS).
This is the third re-accreditation for Rockingham Regional Ambulance, which became Nationally Accredited in 2000. Rockingham Regional Ambulance remains the only commercial ambulance service in New Hampshire to have achieved this standard and was the first in New England. There are currently over 150 ambulance services in the United States that have successfully attained this benchmark.
The accreditation process includes an extensive self-assessment, an independent outside professional review, plus a multi-day on-site independent team evaluation of the organization. The on-site survey involves an examination of clinical data, patient surveys, transport and response times, business practices, regulatory compliance and adherence to protocols and procedures.
"National accreditation is an independent and unbiased verification of our commitment to being an outstanding provider of medical transportation services," said Chris Stawasz, Rockingham's Executive Director. "It clearly sets us apart from other New Hampshire commercial ambulance providers and affirms that we take our commitment to service excellence seriously," he added. "We could not be prouder of this achievement and what is says about the quality of our staff," he said.
Rockingham Regional Ambulance is New Hampshire's largest 9-1-1 ambulance service provider. The company provides paramedic level emergency medical transportation services to the New Hampshire cities of Nashua and Manchester along with the town of Candia. Rockingham employs over 200 medics and has a fleet of more than 30 vehicles.
Rockingham Ambulance also provides advanced and basic life support medical transportation services to hospitals and medical facilities throughout southern New Hampshire and is New Hampshire's only nationally accredited commercial ambulance service. The company has served New Hampshire for over 30 years and is a member of St. Joseph Healthcare.
