In keeping with our tradition of bringing the most advanced technology to the region, St. Joseph Hospital is the first in Nashua to use the innovative da Vinci® Surgical System-a breakthrough approach to surgery.
The DaVinci Si is the most state-of-the-art, cutting edge robotic surgical system available. It is the only da Vinci® robot which offers a completely integrated platform, making it the most enabling technology ever offered in robotic surgery. Enhanced 3D HD visualization with 10x maginification offers surgeons an immersive view of the operative field superior to any other surgical approach, including traditional open surgery and laparoscopy. The da Vinci® Si System is designed to keep hospitals and surgeons at the forefront of minimally invasive surgery, allowing seamless integration with our current OR and the expandability to accommodate future technologies (this is the platform on which all future da Vinci® technologies will be developed).
With the new da Vinci® Si robot, St. Joseph Hospital is now one of the only hospitals in New England with a da Vinci® Skills Simulator, a new virtual-reality training simulator which allows surgeons to master their surgical skills and improve their proficiencies with the DaVinci system. This contributes to making the hospital a leader in the area for cutting edge technology and safety.

da Vinci® Hysterectomy
Traditional open gynecologic surgery, using a large incision for access to the uterus and surrounding anatomy, has for many years been the standard approach to many gynecologic procedures.
For complex hysterectomies and other gynecologic procedures, robot-assisted surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System may be the most effective, least invasive treatment option. Through tiny, 1-2 cm incisions, surgeons using the da Vinci® System can operate with greater precision and control, minimizing the pain and risk associated with large incisions while increasing the likelihood of a fast recovery and excellent clinical outcomes.
