In keeping with our tradition of bringing the most advanced technology to the region, St. Joseph Hospital is the first in Nashua to use the innovative da Vinci® Surgical System-a breakthrough approach to surgery.
With robotic-assisted surgery, surgeons can perform even the most complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions with unmatched precision. The da Vinci® Surgical System puts a surgeon's hands at the controls of a state-of-the-art robotic platform, where they operate while viewing a high-definition 3D image of the surgical area. As the surgeon's fingers grasp the master controls, the system seamlessly translates hand, wrist and finger movements into precise real-time movements of surgical instruments inside the patient.
The da Vinci® Surgical System allows us to offer the most effective, least invasive treatment options to our patients-much less invasive than traditional surgery, with less limitations than ordinary laparoscopic procedures. Potential benefits include:

Traditional open gynecologic surgery, using a large incision for access to the uterus and surrounding anatomy, has for many years been the standard approach to many gynecologic procedures.
For complex hysterectomies and other gynecologic procedures, robot-assisted surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System may be the most effective, least invasive treatment option.
