A thoughtful gift for every occasion

When you're looking for meaningful gifts to honor a friend or family member, celebrate a birthday, anniversary, promotion, graduation, birth of a child or grandchild, or express your sympathy for the loss of a loved one, consider a Tribute to St. Joseph Hospital or one of its many specific programs.

For more information, call 603.595.3051.

Consider The Possibilities

As a mission-driven hospital, founded by the Sisters of Charity of Montreal (Grey Nuns), we are dedicated to providing high quality compassionate care for those in need. Our ministry to the sick extends far beyond the physical needs of our patients. In all that we do, we seek to promote the health and well-being of those in our community through responsible stewardship, education and community service. Fostering the physical, psychological, spiritual and social well-being of our patients and all within our community is central to our mission. Gifts in Memory of...

AS THE DONOR, you will receive an acknowledgment of your tax-deductible gift. Additionally, if provided with the name and mailing address, we will notify the honoree, and/or a family member/Next-of-Kin of your kind gesture. Once a Tribute Fund is established for an individual, we will continue to monitor the growth of the fund and provide the appropriate recognition and periodic updates to the honoree or family members.

We will remember all recipients of Tribute gifts
  • At our weekly mass in the Chapel
  • At special memorial services
  • By planting a commemorative daisy during Founder's Day each spring.

Legacy gifts and planned gifts can be recognized when commitment for such gifts is formalized. For more information about Legacy gifts and our Tribute Fund contact Resource Development 603.595.3051. Specific naming opportunities are available throughout the hospital for legacy gifts of over $30,000.

Establishing a Tribute Fund

Step One
Oftentimes you may suggest to friends and relatives that a donation be made "in lieu of flowers or gifts." You may wish to specify a particular fund that would have special meaning for you or your loved one. All gifts will be restricted for that purpose unless otherwise restricted by the donor.

Step Two
Consider the following wording for the newspaper obituary notice:
"In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of (name of deceased) may be made to St. Joseph Hospital (Name specific Fund if you choose) in care of St. Joseph Hospital Resource Development, 172 Kinsley Street, PO BOX 2013, Nashua, NH 03061-2013."

Step Three
Attractive donation acknowledgement cards are available along with donation envelopes. Simply fill out the envelope with information necessary to establish a Tribute Fund — including the appropriate person(s) to be notified. Donors can give the acknowledgment card in place of or along with a traditional sympathy or congratulations card. Tribute cards are available throughout the hospital, in the gift shop at the main reception desk, spiritual care department, at local funeral homes and churches or by calling the Resource Development Office at 603.595.3051.

Step Four
Funds that reach the $500 level will be recognized on the Honor/Memorial Wall on the first floor (near elevators B). Those that reach the $1,000 level and beyond will be recognized on the Giving Tree in the Main Lobby by special recognition.

For tributes for special occasions, a similar note could be made on an invitation: "in lieu of gifts, please consider a donation to St. Joseph Hospital."
