Yoga provides tension relief, improved concentration, ease of movement, enhanced self-image, and increased vitality. Leader Valerie Forde-Galvin, trained in Integrative Yoga Therapy, M.A. in Counseling and Psychotherapy, and Certified in Creative Stress Transformation.
Join us two days a week for Zumba, which combines dance and fitness moves to burn calories while having fun. Zumba is Latin inspired and combines international rhythms with easy-to-followdance steps. All levels of fitness are welcome to join this party!
Yoga for Graceful Aging
This new program uses the principles of yoga and qigong to promote health of body and mind. No mats are needed. Slow and effortless moves practiced while sitting on chairs create a sense of deep relaxation. Gentle standing moves help to restore strength, flexibility, balance, and self-confidence. The facilitator, Valerie Forde-Galvin, has been teaching meditative movement since 1982.
Gentle YOGYAM Yoga Practice
Join Kathy MacKinnon in a holistic and therapeutic approach for keeping both the mental and physical body healthy. Regardless of age or mobility, anyone can practice YOGYAM Yoga’s gentle Tula (balance) flow. This class is ideal for beginners and aims to strengthen bones and muscles, improve balance, and create equilibrium throughout the body. 6-week sessions.
Fit and Young for Life: A Strength and Balance Training Program for Seniors
This program is designed for those 55 and older who would like assistance in maintaining muscle strength, flexibility, and functionality.
This fun, but gentle class combines fat-burning aerobics with muscle-building exercises and stretching. Low-impact classes are ideal for people just beginning an exercise program, as well as people who experience muscle or joint pain.
