The St. Joseph Hospital Parish Nurse Program and the Greater Nashua Parish Nurse Partnership is an interfaith church and healthcare partnership designed to reaffirm the church's role in ministering to the whole person.
Who is the Parish Nurse?
Parish Nurses are actually several persons who are usually parishioners of their faith congregation.
Many Parish Nurses are volunteers, however St. Joseph Hospital provides a community site, the
Parish Nurse Center for Wellness and a full-time staff to support the Greater Nashua Parish Nurse
Partnership. The Center is open to all and services are free or available for a minimal fee.
The Parish Nurse serves as a resource person, health counselor and promoter of holistic wellness. The Parish Nurse does not dispense or administer medications, perform invasive procedures or duplicate existing home health programs and services.
As a neighborhood outreach program, this effort fosters collaboration between area organizations and churches to promote wellness and provide preventative healthcare services within our community.
