Spiritual Care

What is Spiritual Care?
Spiritual Care serves the whole person - mind, body and spirit - responding to the needs of persons of all faiths. We respect the worth and dignity of every person.

When illness or injury strikes, a person's whole being is affected - including faith, feelings, hopes, relationships and view of self. The chaplains at St. Joseph Hospital serve persons of all faiths.

How to Contact a Chaplain
Chaplains are available in-house to serve patients, families and staff on Weekdays from 6:00 am - 7:00 pm, and Weekends from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. A chaplain is available on-call for emergencies at all times. To request a visit by a chaplain or for assistance in contacting your local clergy, please call extension 67800.

Additional Services
A Catholic priest is available to meet the sacramental needs of our Catholic patients. Communion is brought to Catholic patients daily. If you need help in contacting your local clergy we can assist you. For these and others services, call extension 67800.

St. Joseph Hospital Chapel
The Chapel, located on the first floor off the main corridor near the atrium and the elevators, is available to anyone for prayer, solitude and communion with God. Catholic Mass is celebrated in the Chapel on Weekdays at 11:30 am and on Sundays at 4:00 pm. These services may also be viewed in the hospital on Channel 16.
