The Memory Evaluation Clinic at The Roger Dionne, MD, Senior Center offers an interdisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of memory disorders.
Our interdisciplinary team is made up of a neurologist, psychiatrist, physician, neuropsychologist, nurse practitioners, and social worker. This extraodinary team has extensive training in cognitive and memory disorders, and brings an impressive level of expertise to this field.
The team works closely with the patients and their family members, primary care physicians and other caregivers to provide coordinated care that optimizes the patient’s functioning.
The memory evaluation clinic may consist of:
- A complete medical workup and detailed medical history.
- Careful history of the changes the patient has experienced and concerns of the family.
- Comprehensive neurological examiniation to assess any abnormalities in this area.
- An in-depth psychiatric assessment to determine the cause of or contributing factors to the patient’s symptoms.
- Neuropsychological testing that reveals the pattern of the cognitive changes and the patient’s strengths and weaknesses.
- Recommendations for possible treatment options or further medical interventions.
- Accessing follow-up treatment and/or services for the patient and the family.
