General surgeon, Jeffrey Brown, MD, is specially trained to perform gastric bypass (bariatric) surgery using a minimally invasive laparascopic technique. Patients seeking this pioneering weight loss procedure are spared a large abdominal incision, experience decreased blood loss and have shorter hospital stays.

St. Joseph Hospital offers both same day surgical procedures as well as inpatient procedures. Located on the 2nd floor of St. Joseph Hospital, our operating rooms house the latest surgical equipment. Surgeons and anesthesiologists are supported by our highly trained operating room staff, and a vast majority of the staff are certified operating room nurses (CNOR). To earn this prestigious certification our nurses completed clinical requirements and successfully passed the national examination given by the American Operating Room Association.
