Join us at St. Joseph Hospital for an evening of community, education and food. Get acquainted with our physicians and clinical staff while enjoying a delicious meal prepared by local favorite, Celebrations Catering. Each of the sessions run from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Hike More, Worry Less!

Thursday, May 16 • 6:00–8:00 p.m.
Hiking is a great self-paced workout and a lot of fun, but if you’re not careful it can quickly turn into a dangerous activity. Learn how to avoid common hiking mishaps. Dr. Martin is an experienced and passionate hiker. He’ll share his knowledge on identifying poison ivy and other potential hazards, and tick and wildlife safety. He’ll also offer tips for trail safety, hydration, avoiding hypothermia and more. By the end of the evening, you’ll be ready to take on your next adventure.

Colorectal Cancer: Are You at Risk?

According to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in both men and women. The good news is it’s treatable with early detection. Join Dr. Srikant Muddana, St. Joseph Hospital Gastroenterology, for an overview of how lifestyle and family history may impact your colon health. The discussion will also include when preventative screenings may be right for you as well as what to expect during the screening process.

Pediatric Incontinence: Solutions & Support

Thursday, June 6 • 6:00–8:00 p.m.
Do you know a child whose life revolves around either avoidance or excessive use of the restroom? Do they miss out on social opportunities due to discomfort, bladder or bowel issues? Incontinence can adversely affect toddlers to teenagers. Join Falguni Vashi, PT, DPT, PRPC, as she explains potential causes and discusses treatment options. This class is appropriate for parents, extended family or caregivers, educators, school counselors and nurses.
