Parenting can be a challenge! Put your fears at ease by joining certified speech language pathologist Ashley Bradley to discuss a range of topics, including feeding, shaping behavior, communication, play/social skills, the role of technology in our daily lives, and more!  Location: St. Joseph Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation, 75 Northeastern Boulevard, Nashua

Basic Childbirth Education (Includes Tour)

Saturdays, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Join our experienced childbirth educators and learn how to calmly and confidently recognize the stages and phases of labor and birth while supporting each other as birthing partners. We’ll address topics such as flexible birth plans, visual and physical exercises, and comfort and coping strategies. Will also offer a tour of our center. Fee: $130 per couple

Maternal Child Health Center Tour

Mondays, 6:00–7:00 p.m.
November 5 or December 3

Join our Maternal Child Health nursing staff for a comprehensive tour. You’ll walk through our private Baby-Friendly™ birthing and postpartum patient rooms and have a chance to ask our staff questions. Birthing partners are welcome and encouraged to join you for this tour.

Child Passenger Safety Car Seat Inspection and Education

Call (603) 595-3168 to schedule an appointment, available twice per month.
Our certified child passenger safety technicians will assist you with installing an age- and size-appropriate safety system in your vehicle to ensure your child travels safely. We strongly recommend scheduling an appointment prior to week 36 of your pregnancy.

Parenting Support Groups

For your convenience, we offer weekly parenting support groups at two of our Nashua locations. Our experienced staff creates a positive, safe community for you to share the joys and challenges of parenthood. In this group, you’ll learn tips and tricks on a variety of topics, such as feeding, soothing, communications, self-care and more.

Newborn Basics

Mondays, 6:00–8:00 p.m.
November 19

This class will help you gain confidence about meeting your newborn. Have some fun with other expectant parents as you learn and practice how to care for a new baby. You’ll gain insight into infant growth and development, and learn techniques for feeding, bathing, diapering, dressing, and soothing your baby. Fee: $35 per couple.

One-on-One Support

Lactation Program and Support

During your hospital stay, our committed nursing team will spend one-on-one time with you and your newborn. Our certified lactation consultants will help you learn how to breast- or bottle-feed your baby and ensure you’re entirely comfortable with whichever option you choose.

At-home Support

When you leave our Maternal Child Health Center, compassionate care follows you home. Our nursing staff is available by phone 24/7 to answer questions about you or your baby. If you need additional support breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, a lactation consultant will follow-up with you and continue to provide support for as long as you need it.
