Robert Levine, MD FACE
Dr. Robert Levine began his career working for the Navy as a submarine sonar technician with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University. He did research and development in medical ultrasound, applying the principles shared with sonar technology. He then attended Medical School at the University of Connecticut, graduating in 1981. He did his residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he had a teaching appointment at Harvard Medical School. Following an Endocrine Fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine, he joined the clinical faculty at Yale. He subsequently had a teaching appointment at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and he is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Endocrinology at Dartmouth Medical School.

Dr. Levine has a strong interest and expertise in thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer. Dr. Levine set up an Endocrinology practice in New Hampshire 20 years ago. He is a co-director of the Thyroid Ultrasound and Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy Course for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. He has been an instructor in that course for more than ten years, and has performed over 5000 thyroid biopsies. He is an Editor of the textbook Thyroid Ultrasound and Ultrasound Guided Biopsy, published in 2009. He has taught ultrasound courses both nationally and internationally, at locations as distant as Amman, Jordan. He is on the faculty of Endocrine University, held annually at the Mayo Clinic. He has taught ultrasound courses to over 2000 endocrinologists.

Margaret Flynn, MD 
Dr. Margaret Flynn received her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, NH. She completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine a Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA. Completing her Fellowship in Endocrinology at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston, MA. Dr. Flynn is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology & Metabolism.

Shellie Hafer, APRN
Shelly Hafer received her Master's in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Program from Duke University in Durham, NC. She is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and also hold an Advanced Diabetes Management Certification. Her clinical interests include; Thyroid Disease, Diabetes Management, Parathyroid Disorders, Osteoporosis, Hypogonadism, and Pituitary Disorders.

St. Joseph Hospital endocrinologists offer comprehensive and integrated care in order to evaluate and treat patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders.

The St. Joseph Hospital Cardiovascular and Diabetes Center offers diabetes treatment and management through our American Diabetes Association-accredited Diabetes Education Clinic. The clinic also provides individual and group education, access to support groups and glucose screenings.

The St. Joseph Hospital Endocrinology practice (Thyroid Center of New Hampshire) specializes in the diagnoses and treatment of complex thyroid disorders and thyroid cancer as well as other endocrine and metabolism disorders.
