Establishing a Tribute Fund
Choosing to donate
When your choice is "in lieu of flowers or gifts," consider suggesting a tribute gift to St. Joseph Hospital. You may even suggest support for a particular hospital program that would have special meaning for you or your loved one. All gifts will be restricted for that purpose unless you specify otherwise.
Announcing your intention
Consider the following wording for the newspaper obituary notice:
"In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of (name of deceased) may be made to St. Joseph Hospital (name specific program, if you choose) in care of St. Joseph Hospital Resource Development, 172 Kinsley Street, PO Box 2013, Nashua, NH 03061-2013."
For tributes for special occasions, a similar note could be made on an invitation: "in lieu of gifts, please consider a donation to St. Joseph Hospital."
Recognizing your gift
As the donor, you will receive an acknowledgment of your tax-deductible gift. We will notify the honoree and/or a family member/next-of-kin of your kind gesture, if you provide us with the name and mailing address.
When a Tribute Fund is established for an individual, we will continue to monitor the growth of the fund and provide the appropriate recognition and periodic updates to the honoree or family members.
Funds that reach the $1,000 level will be recognized on the Honor/Memorial Wall across from the Board Room in the Main Lobby just off the Atrium.
