Parenthood: Preparing and Beyond  

Understanding Birth – This interactive, self-paced online course delivers essential information to help prepare expectant parents for a healthy, fulfilling birth experience. Engaging videos, life-like 3D animation and personal birth stories give you the knowledge and insight you need to make informed decisions about labor and delivery. You’ll even create your own birth plan.

Understanding Your Newborn – This eClass will help you gain the confidence you need to care for your baby. You and your support person will learn about the specific care your baby needs in the first six weeks and beyond as well as understand importance of baby cues, early brain development and bonding. You’ll also gain valuable insight into topics including newborn traits and behaviors, crying and comforting, feeding, diapering, bathing, nailcare, infant CPR and more.

Education and Support Session with Childbirth Educators – This class is designed to provide a hands-on experience to supplement your online learning. Together with other expectant parents, you’ll tour our Maternal Child Health Center, interact with staff, practice calming exercises and ask questions.

Please be aware that the online portion should be completed before attending the in-person class so that you receive the most benefit from your session.

Parent Support Group

Monday's 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. 

Maternal Child Health Classroom, 172 Kinsley Street, Nashua

Our experience staff creates a positive, safe community for you to share the joys and challenges of parenthood with other parents. As part of this group, you will learn tips and tricks on a variety of topics such as feeding, soothing, communication, self-care and more.

Child Passenger Safety Program (car seat fittings/checks)

Our certified technicians will help you install/check your child's car seat in your vehicle and will provide education on car seat safety. 

Sessions (9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.: 30-minute appointments) held on the first Wednesday of every month. Individual appointments at alternative times may be arranged if needed.

Prenatal Yoga - open to all stages of pregnancy: Pregnancy is a beautiful time to begin or reignite a yoga practice. Labor and delivery is a full body workout. Strengthen and condition your body in preparation for childbirth through sitting, standing and balancing postures - all safe for any trimester. Our practice begins with a time of sharing with other moms and ends with a final relaxation bonding with your baby to be. Appropriate for new moms just easing back into their practice. Mommy & Me Yoga - open to 6 weeks through crawling (pre walking. Reclaim your body, develop strength and flexibility and learn calming techniques for both you and your baby to ease the transition at home. Enjoy the benefits of group socialization, bonding and the positive energy created by our welcoming space. This class is designed for caregivers and babies age 6-weeks through crawling.
