Recommended* Preventive Testing:

Recommended at age 50 or earlier if strong family history

Recommended for women at age 40 or earlier if strong family history

Recommended for men at age 50, after appropriate discussion with your provider

Bone Density
Recommended for post menopausal women over 65 years old and for men over 70 years old.  Recommended for men or women with risk between the ages of 50 and 70.

Pap Smears
Recommended for women age 21 to 30 every 1 to 2 years depending on risk factors. Recommended for women over 30 every 3 to 5 years depending on risk factors.   

Recommended vaccines:

Zostavax (shingles immunization)
Indicated for adults 60 years of age or older. Shingles is a painful skin rash, often with blisters. A shingles rash usually appears on one side of the face or body and lasts for 2 to 4 weeks. Its main symptom is pain, which can be quite severe. Other symptoms of shingles can include fever, headache, chills and upset stomach.

Flu shot

Once at age 65 or earlier with risk factors

Every 10 years

Gardasil (for cervical cancer)
Recommended between the ages of 9-26
